Hector C. Carreño

Hector C. Carreño is the Chairman & CEO of the carreñogroup an award winning Houston based public relations, public affairs and grassroots advocacy firm.

Since 1992, Hector has worked on numerous successful campaigns on behalf of numerous national associations, Fortune 1000 companies and public institutions in various public relations and grassroots lobbying capacities. For the past four years, the carreñogroup has been ranked one of the top public relations firm by the Houston Business Journal

Hector began his career over twenty-five years ago, working with both public and private corporations throughout the Americas.   Currently, Hector serves as board member of the Latino Business Roundtable, as a board member of the Government Leadership Institute and on the advisory board of Genesys Works.

In 1979, he was appointed by the U.S. Commerce Secretary to serve as a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce District Export Council. Hector was appointed by the Mayor of Houston, in 2002, to serve on the board of the Houston Small Business Development Corporation and to the board of Houston 2012 Olympic Foundation.

Hector has a BA in Political Science from Northeastern Illinois University. Hector was born in Cuba, immigrated to the United States with his family in 1961 and became a U.S. citizen in 1973.
